About the Role
We're looking for film-savvy professionals to help train the next generation of AI video models. As a Cinematography Prompting Specialist, you'll watch short video clips and translate what you see into precise, technically accurate shot descriptions — the kind only someone with a real eye for cinema can produce.
Your work directly shapes how AI understands and generates video, making this a rare opportunity to apply your cinematographic expertise at the cutting edge of AI development.
- Type: Hourly Contract

What You'll Do
- Watch short video clips and identify key shots, transitions, and visual storytelling elements
- Describe framing, camera movement, blocking, lighting, and composition using accurate film terminology
- Write structured prompts that capture the look, feel, and intent of each shot
- Call out stylistic references and cinematic influences where relevant
- Follow internal templates for both shot-level and sequence-level descriptions
- Distinguish between effective and ineffective prompts to help maintain quality standards
- Maintain consistent terminology, depth, and clarity across all tasks
Who You Are
Must-Have:
- Background in cinematography, camera operation, film editing, or film studies
- Confident using film language and technical terminology to describe shots
- Strong visual attention to detail — you notice composition, lens characteristics, and movement instinctively
- Clear, consistent written communication with the ability to handle repetitive tasks without sacrificing quality
Nice to Have:
- Experience writing prompts for AI video or image generation tools
- Professional experience as a Director of Photography, camera operator, director, or editor
- Familiarity with AI training workflows or annotation projects
