About the Role

We're looking for physics graduates and current Masters students to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models. Your deep understanding of physical principles will directly shape how AI reasons through complex scientific problems — contributing to some of the most advanced AI systems being built today.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role that lets you apply your academic expertise in a high-impact, forward-looking field.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design rigorous physics problems across domains such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum physics to test AI reasoning
  • Develop clear, step-by-step solutions with well-structured logical frameworks
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for scientific accuracy, depth of reasoning, and quality
  • Collaborate with researchers to build and refine benchmarks spanning undergraduate to Masters-level topics
  • Provide structured, actionable feedback that helps improve AI model performance

Who You Are

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a Masters degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across advanced physics domains
  • Able to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely in writing
  • Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to evaluation
  • No prior AI or machine learning experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or academic research
  • Familiarity with AI language models or prompt-based tools
  • Background in experimental or computational physics

Why Join Us

  • Work directly with industry-leading AI models and top research labs
  • Fully remote and asynchronous — work on your own schedule from anywhere
  • Freelance perks: high autonomy, flexibility, and international collaboration
  • Meaningful work that puts your physics knowledge to use at the frontier of AI development
  • Potential for ongoing contract renewals and expanded project opportunities
