About the Role

We're looking for Masters and PhD-level researchers to bring their deep domain expertise to cutting-edge AI training projects — designing complex problems, stress-testing AI reasoning, and helping push the frontier of what these models can do.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers who want meaningful, intellectually stimulating work alongside their existing commitments. No prior AI industry experience required — your academic and research background is exactly what we need.

What You'll Do
- Design, solve, and critically review advanced, multi-disciplinary problems with real-world relevance across STEM and technical domains
- Apply your research expertise to construct complex problem statements that genuinely challenge and improve AI reasoning capabilities
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to identify weaknesses and enhance model performance
- Uphold academic rigor, depth, and clarity across all deliverables — ensuring outputs meet the standards expected of serious research
- Provide expert-level evaluation of AI-generated solutions in your area of specialisation
Who You Are
- Holds a Master's or PhD in a STEM or highly technical field from a leading university
- Strong track record in research, publications, or managing complex technical projects
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a sharp eye for precision and detail
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently and asynchronously
- Fluent in English and based in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, or New Zealand
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows
- Proficiency in Python, R, or other research-oriented programming languages
- Background spanning multiple technical disciplines — cross-domain expertise is a genuine advantage
- Experience designing or grading graduate-level coursework, qualifying exams, or research assessments
