About the Role
What if your deep knowledge of cloud security architecture could directly protect organizations from the risks they don't even know they have? We're looking for a Principal Cloud Security Architect to evaluate large-scale cloud environments — uncovering architectural weaknesses, IAM misconfigurations, and security design gaps before they become serious problems.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for senior security professionals who think in systems, communicate with clarity, and know where cloud environments go wrong.
What You'll Do
- Assess cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP for security vulnerabilities and structural risk
- Review IAM configurations, network segmentation, resource policies, and access control models
- Identify privilege escalation risks, misconfigurations, and insecure architectural patterns
- Produce clear, structured reports summarizing architectural flaws and actionable mitigation guidance
- Validate cloud environments against established security frameworks and industry best practices
- Support recurring assessments of evolving cloud environments and deployment patterns
- Deliver expert-level findings that translate complex technical risk into understandable, prioritized recommendations
Who You Are
Must-Have:
- Deep, hands-on experience in cloud security architecture across one or more major cloud platforms
- Strong command of IAM design, network segmentation, and cloud-native service models
- Ability to analyze complex architectures and document findings in clear, structured, professional form
- Sharp eye for risk — you spot what others miss and can explain why it matters
Nice to Have:
- Experience with multi-cloud environments, zero-trust architecture, or high-compliance regulated environments
- Familiarity with frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks, NIST CSF, or CSA CCM
- Background in security consulting, cloud penetration testing, or enterprise architecture review
Why Join Us
- Work on meaningful, high-impact security assessments that directly reduce real-world risk
- Fully remote and flexible — structure your work around your life, not the other way around
- Freelance autonomy with consistent, substantive work that keeps your skills sharp
- Collaborate asynchronously with a team that values precision, expertise, and clear thinking
- Potential for ongoing contract work and expanded scope as new engagements launch
