Hospital Health Data Governance Lead

$40-80/hrRemoteFreelanceSTEM

About the Role

What if your expertise in healthcare data governance could directly shape how AI understands and reasons about hospital systems, clinical workflows, and health data compliance? We're looking for experienced Health Data Governance Leaders to bring real-world clinical data knowledge to cutting-edge AI projects — helping ensure AI models are trained on frameworks that reflect how healthcare data actually works.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for seasoned professionals who know the ins and outs of hospital data ecosystems. If you've spent years building governance structures, navigating HIPAA, and bridging the gap between clinicians and IT teams, your expertise is exactly what we need.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Apply your deep knowledge of hospital health data governance to evaluate, review, and improve AI-generated content related to clinical data management, compliance, and health information systems
  • Assess AI outputs for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with real-world healthcare data governance standards and regulatory frameworks
  • Identify gaps, errors, or misrepresentations in how AI handles concepts like data quality, data stewardship, HIPAA compliance, and clinical interoperability
  • Provide structured, expert-level feedback on AI-generated governance frameworks, policies, and clinical data workflows
  • Draw on cross-functional experience across clinical, IT, compliance, and administrative domains to evaluate the practical accuracy of AI responses
  • Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Experienced in healthcare data governance, clinical data management, or health information operations — you've done this work in real hospital or health system environments
  • Deep understanding of healthcare privacy and regulatory frameworks, including HIPAA and related compliance requirements
  • Skilled at working across clinical, technical, and administrative boundaries — you know how to translate between these worlds
  • Detail-oriented and methodical — you catch what others miss and can articulate exactly why something is right or wrong
  • Strong written communicator capable of providing clear, structured, and actionable feedback
  • Comfortable working independently and asynchronously without hand-holding

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation workflows
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, or ICD coding systems
  • Background in clinical informatics, health IT, or electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Experience with data stewardship programs, data dictionaries, or enterprise data governance tools
  • Advanced degree or certification in health informatics, health information management, or a related field (RHIA, CPHIMS, etc.)

Why Join Us

  • Work at the intersection of healthcare expertise and frontier AI development alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you, on your own schedule
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, expert-level project work
  • Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and reasons about healthcare data and governance
  • Gain exposure to large-scale health data systems and the AI models being trained on them
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
