About the Role
What if your eye for detail and knack for clear communication could directly shape how AI understands the visual world? We're looking for Image Description Specialists to write rich, accurate descriptions of images that help cutting-edge AI systems learn to interpret visual content — from everyday photographs to complex diagrams and illustrations.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to anyone with strong observational skills and the ability to write clearly and precisely. No photography, art, or AI background required — just a sharp eye and a commitment to quality.

What You'll Do
- Write detailed, structured descriptions of images spanning a wide range of types — including photographs, illustrations, diagrams, charts, and more
- Identify and accurately describe key visual elements such as objects, people, scenes, actions, spatial relationships, and context
- Follow clear annotation guidelines to ensure consistent format, depth, and detail across assignments
- Label and categorize visual content to support AI training workflows
- Maintain high accuracy and quality standards across large batches of images
- Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Strong observational skills — you notice the details others miss
- Clear, descriptive writing ability with a natural instinct for precision
- Comfortable working methodically through repetitive visual tasks without sacrificing quality
- Reliable and self-motivated when working independently
- No photography, art, or AI experience required
Nice to Have
- Background in writing, editing, journalism, or communications
- Experience with accessibility content such as alt text or image captioning
- Familiarity with annotation tools or AI data platforms
- Interest in visual media, design, or photography
