About the Role
What if your years of advanced mathematical training could directly shape how AI reasons through the world's hardest problems? We're looking for Mathematics Experts — Masters and PhD holders — to help build and improve the mathematical reasoning capabilities of cutting-edge AI models.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You'll work asynchronously alongside world-class AI researchers, applying your deep expertise to problems that genuinely matter.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Develop, solve, and critically review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance
- Design complex, rigorous problem statements drawing on your expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related areas
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to enhance the reasoning capabilities of AI models
- Evaluate the mathematical quality, clarity, and depth of AI-generated solutions and proofs
- Ensure every deliverable meets the highest standards of mathematical rigor
Who You Are
- Holder of a Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
- Deeply fluent in one or more core mathematical domains — algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or beyond
- Experienced with Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, or similar tools for mathematical computation and research
- A precise, clear communicator who can articulate complex reasoning in writing
- Self-motivated and consistent when working independently on structured tasks
- Fluent in English
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, evaluation systems, or AI training workflows
- Background in academic research, technical writing, or peer review
