Aviation Communications Transcriber (ATC)

$12-25/hrRemoteFreelanceAUDIO

About the Role

We're building next-generation AI systems for aviation and autonomous flight — and we need people who actually understand what's being said on the radio.

This is a rare opportunity for pilots, air traffic controllers, and aviation enthusiasts to put their specialized knowledge to work on a cutting-edge AI project. You'll transcribe real-world ATC and pilot communications, helping train AI that could shape the future of aviation safety.

  • Organization: Alignerr (Powered by Labelbox)
  • Type: Hourly / Task-Based Contract
  • Location: Fully Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Transcribe real-world Air Traffic Control (ATC) ↔ pilot audio recordings with high accuracy
  • Label speakers, callsigns, instructions, and responses within each recording
  • Correctly capture aviation terminology, abbreviations, and standard phraseology
  • Complete task-based assignments on your own schedule
  • Maintain quality and accuracy standards critical to AI training integrity

Who You Are

This role is a strong fit if you are:

  • A pilot, student pilot, air traffic controller, or aviation professional
  • An aviation enthusiast who regularly listens to ATC communications
  • Someone who understands aviation radio procedures and phraseology at a working level
  • Extremely detail-oriented and patient with audio work
  • Reliable and self-motivated when working independently

You do not need to be a professional transcriptionist — but you do need to genuinely understand aviation communications. This is a specialist role, not general transcription.

Why This Work Matters

Your transcriptions feed directly into AI systems being developed for aviation safety and autonomous flight. The accuracy of your work has real-world implications — which is why we take quality seriously and reward contributors who do too.
