About the Role
Your public health expertise is more valuable than ever — and not just in the clinic or the policy office. We're looking for Masters-level public health professionals to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models on some of the most consequential health topics imaginable: disease outbreaks, health equity, biostatistics, and global health policy.
At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build AI that's accurate, safe, and grounded in scientific consensus. When AI gets health wrong, the consequences are real. Your job is to make sure it gets it right.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role that fits around your schedule — whether you're between roles, doing research, or looking to diversify your work.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Complex Public Health Scenarios — Create challenging, real-world problems involving disease outbreak simulations, health equity assessments, and interpretation of epidemiological or clinical trial data
- Author Expert-Level Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step responses that draw on peer-reviewed research, population health data, and authoritative guidelines (CDC, WHO, and beyond)
- Audit AI Health Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated health advice and policy recommendations for accuracy, bias, logical consistency, and adherence to ethical standards
- Identify Misinformation — Spot gaps in the AI's reasoning, flag misleading health claims, and help the model distinguish correlation from causation
- Refine AI Communication — Provide structured feedback to improve how the model communicates health risks to diverse, non-expert populations
Who You Are
- Holder of a Masters in Public Health (MPH), MSPH, or closely related graduate degree
- Strong foundational knowledge in at least two of: Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Environmental Health, or Health Policy
- Skilled at translating complex health data into clear, culturally sensitive, and actionable written communication
- Detail-oriented — comfortable verifying statistical significance, evaluating citations, and assessing the logic of health interventions
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in an async environment
- No prior AI experience required
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or content review workflows
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as R, SAS, or Stata
- Background in health communication, clinical research coordination, or public health surveillance
