About the Role
What if your ability to think like an adversary — to trace kill chains, spot defensive gaps, and map how threats move through real systems — could directly shape how the world's most advanced AI understands cybersecurity?
We're looking for Offensive Security Analysts to bring that expertise to the frontier of AI development. This role is focused on structured adversarial reasoning, not exploit development. You'll work with realistic attack scenarios to help train and evaluate AI systems that need to understand how threats actually behave in the wild.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. If you've spent time in pentesting, red teaming, or a hands-on blue team role and you know how real attacks unfold — this is a rare opportunity to apply that knowledge in a high-impact, forward-looking way.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Analyze attack paths, kill chains, and adversary strategies across realistic, production-style environments
- Classify weaknesses, misconfigurations, and defensive gaps with clarity and precision
- Review red team-style scenarios and intrusion narratives for accuracy and depth
- Generate, label, and validate adversarial reasoning data used to train and evaluate AI systems
- Articulate how attacks unfold, where defenses fail, and how risk propagates — in ways AI can learn from
Who You Are
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in pentesting, red teaming, or an offensive-minded blue team role
- You understand how real attacks unfold in production environments — not just in theory
- You can clearly explain attack chains, defender blind spots, and attacker decision-making
- You're comfortable working independently and delivering structured, high-quality written analysis
- No exploit development required — this role is about adversarial reasoning and threat modeling
Nice to Have
- Experience with threat intelligence, adversary emulation, or purple team exercises
- Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, OWASP, or the Cyber Kill Chain
- Background in cloud security, endpoint detection, or network defense
- Prior experience contributing to AI, data labeling, or technical writing projects
Why Join Us
- Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside leading research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
- Apply deep security expertise to a domain that's genuinely new and consequential
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
