About the Role

Your deep expertise in biochemistry is exactly what the next generation of AI needs. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to train and refine cutting-edge scientific AI models — and we need PhD-level biochemists to help us get the science right.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your knowledge of protein folding, metabolic flux, enzyme kinetics, and molecular genetics directly shapes how AI reasons about life science. You don't need any prior AI experience — just a strong scientific foundation and an eye for detail.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design Advanced Problems — Create challenging biochemistry problems across domains like nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, structural biology, and drug-target interactions to rigorously probe AI performance.
  • Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write precise, step-by-step technical responses that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific reasoning in AI systems.
  • Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical derivations for technical accuracy, scientific validity, and safety.
  • Refine AI Reasoning — Identify and document reasoning errors — such as incorrect stoichiometry, flawed stereochemistry, or misapplied enzyme kinetics — and provide structured feedback to improve model performance.

Who You Are

  • Hold a PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field
  • Strong foundational knowledge in one or more core areas: structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, bioinformatics, or molecular genetics
  • Able to communicate complex biological and chemical concepts clearly and concisely in writing
  • Detail-oriented when working with chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working independently
  • No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, evaluation, or quality assurance workflows
  • Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST
  • Background in scientific writing, peer review, or technical education

Why Join Us
