About the Role

We partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, safer AI systems — and we need real security practitioners to make it happen. As a Vulnerability Management Analyst, you'll bring your hands-on experience with CVEs, exposure data, and remediation workflows to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models on how security teams actually think and operate.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your domain expertise in a new way — shaping how the next generation of AI understands and reasons about real-world security risk.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze vulnerability reports, CVEs, and exposure scenarios across infrastructure and applications
  • Classify severity, impact, exploitability, and appropriate remediation strategies
  • Review and evaluate patching, mitigation, and remediation decision-making scenarios
  • Generate, label, and validate realistic security-reasoning data used to train and improve AI systems
  • Apply your real-world judgment to help AI distinguish between theoretical risk and what actually matters in production environments

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security
  • Familiar with CVEs, vulnerability scanners, patching workflows, and risk prioritization frameworks (e.g., CVSS, EPSS, SSVC)
  • You understand the nuance between a high CVSS score and an actual exploitable threat in the wild
  • A structured, analytical thinker who can explain your reasoning clearly in writing
  • Comfortable working independently on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools like Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with cloud or container security vulnerability management
  • Background in threat intelligence or security architecture
  • Prior work in AI, data labeling, or technical content evaluation

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Your security expertise creates lasting impact on how AI understands real-world risk
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
