About the Role
We're looking for native Mandarin Chinese speakers to join a remote transcription project supporting cutting-edge AI development. You'll listen to Mandarin audio clips, transcribe them accurately, and help improve how AI systems understand and process spoken Mandarin — making a real impact on one of the world's most widely spoken languages.
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: Flexible, asynchronous — minimum 15 hrs/week
What You'll Do
- Transcribe Mandarin audio recordings accurately following provided guidelines and formatting standards
- Review and edit transcripts for accuracy, grammar, and consistency
- Evaluate AI-generated transcriptions for correctness, punctuation, and readability
- Provide structured, constructive feedback to improve AI transcription quality and language models
- Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Native or near-native Mandarin Chinese speaker with strong English proficiency
- Experience in transcription, editing, proofreading, or similar language-focused work
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing spelling, grammar, and formatting
- Enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Access to reliable audio playback equipment and a quiet workspace
- Self-motivated and able to deliver consistent, high-quality work
Nice to Have
- Interest in AI, natural language processing, or speech-to-text technology
- Experience with data labeling, linguistic annotation, RLHF, or other AI training projects
- Background in linguistics, translation, or language education
