$35-60/hrRemoteFreelanceCODING

About the Role

We're looking for experienced security professionals to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI systems. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs — and we need practitioners who understand how vulnerability management actually works in the real world.

This isn't theoretical work. You'll bring your hands-on experience with CVEs, scanners, patching workflows, and risk prioritization to help AI reason about security the way a skilled analyst would.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze vulnerability reports, CVEs, and exposure scenarios across infrastructure and applications
  • Classify severity, impact, exploitability, and appropriate remediation strategies
  • Evaluate patching, mitigation, and remediation decision-making scenarios for realism and accuracy
  • Generate, label, and validate security-reasoning data used to train and benchmark AI systems
  • Apply real-world judgment to distinguish genuine risk from theoretical noise

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security
  • Familiar with CVEs, vulnerability scanners, patching workflows, and risk prioritization frameworks (e.g., CVSS, EPSS, SSVC)
  • Able to think through the tradeoffs between theoretical risk scores and what actually matters in production environments
  • A clear, structured, and analytical thinker who communicates reasoning well in writing
  • Comfortable working independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools like Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar platforms
  • Background in cloud security, DevSecOps, or enterprise patch management
  • Familiarity with AI evaluation or data labeling workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top-tier research teams
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Put your security expertise to use in a genuinely novel and high-impact way
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
