Identity & Access Management (IAM) Analyst

$35-60/hrRemoteFreelanceCODING

About the Role

Identity is at the heart of modern security failures — and we're looking for people who truly understand how and why. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models. As an IAM Analyst, your real-world expertise will directly shape how AI reasons about identity risk, access control failures, and enterprise security vulnerabilities.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. Work on your own schedule, contribute at your own pace, and make a measurable impact on the future of AI security reasoning.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze IAM, SSO, and access control scenarios to identify weaknesses, misconfigurations, and risk patterns
  • Classify permission issues, privilege escalation paths, and identity-related failure modes
  • Review zero-trust models and evaluate access design decisions for correctness and security posture
  • Generate and validate realistic identity security scenarios used to train and evaluate frontier AI systems
  • Provide structured, expert feedback that helps AI learn how IAM risk actually emerges and propagates in real environments

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with IAM, SSO, or enterprise identity platforms
  • Solid understanding of RBAC, least-privilege principles, and access review processes
  • Familiar with how identity failures occur and how attackers exploit them
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to think like both a defender and an attacker
  • Clear written communication skills — you can explain complex security concepts precisely
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with platforms such as Okta, Azure AD, AWS IAM, or SailPoint
  • Familiarity with identity governance and privileged access management (PAM)
  • Background in cloud security, penetration testing, or security architecture
  • Prior experience contributing to AI training, red teaming, or security research

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top research labs
  • Fully remote and asynchronous — work when and where you want
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, flexibility, and global collaboration
  • Contribute to meaningful work at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
