About the Role
What if your expertise in healthcare data governance could directly shape how AI understands, interprets, and works with clinical and operational health data? We're looking for experienced Hospital Health Data Governance Leads to help ensure that the health data used to train cutting-edge AI models is accurate, trusted, compliant, and ready for real-world use.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for seasoned professionals with deep experience in healthcare data management, clinical data operations, and regulatory compliance. Your work will sit at the intersection of patient safety, data integrity, and next-generation AI — and it matters.

What You'll Do
- Evaluate and validate hospital health records for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and security against established governance standards
- Assess and refine data governance frameworks to ensure healthcare data supports safe patient care, regulatory reporting, and analytical use
- Identify gaps in data quality, compliance controls, and clinical workflow alignment — and recommend clear, practical remediation
- Apply knowledge of healthcare privacy and regulatory requirements — including HIPAA — to evaluate data handling and governance policies
- Collaborate across clinical, IT, compliance, and operational domains to align data policies with real-world workflows
- Provide structured, expert feedback on AI-generated outputs related to health data governance scenarios
- Complete task-based assignments independently and asynchronously on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Experienced in healthcare data governance, health informatics, clinical data operations, or healthcare data management
- Strong working knowledge of healthcare privacy law, compliance frameworks, and regulatory standards — especially HIPAA
- Skilled at working cross-functionally with clinical, technical, and administrative stakeholders
- Detail-oriented and systematic — you hold data to a high standard and know how to enforce it
- Comfortable evaluating complex healthcare data scenarios and communicating findings clearly in writing
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently without day-to-day oversight
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
- Background in health information management (HIM), clinical informatics, or hospital operations
- Familiarity with EHR systems, data warehousing, or healthcare analytics platforms
- Credentials such as RHIA, RHIT, CPHIMS, or similar healthcare data certifications
- Experience with regulatory audits, data stewardship programs, or enterprise governance initiatives
