About the Role

What if your security expertise could directly shape how the world's most advanced AI systems defend themselves against attacks, misuse, and manipulation? We're looking for AI Security Analysts to stress-test frontier AI models — identifying vulnerabilities, evaluating risks, and helping ensure these systems remain safe, reliable, and aligned with real-world security standards.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role for security professionals who are curious about how AI systems are built, deployed, and exploited. If you know how to think like an attacker and love digging into complex systems, this role was made for you.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze real-world AI and LLM security scenarios to understand how models behave under adversarial or unexpected conditions
  • Investigate prompt injection attacks, data leakage risks, model abuse cases, and system misuse patterns
  • Classify security issues by real-world impact and likelihood, and recommend appropriate mitigations
  • Evaluate AI system behavior across edge cases and failure modes to identify gaps in safety and reliability
  • Help improve AI system defenses so they remain robust, trustworthy, and aligned with security best practices
  • Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Background in cybersecurity, information security, or a related technical discipline
  • Solid understanding of modern threat modeling principles applied to software or emerging technology
  • Familiarity with how AI and large language models (LLMs) are built and deployed — or a strong drive to learn
  • Analytically sharp — you approach complex systems methodically and leave no stone unturned
  • Clear, precise communicator who can document findings in structured, actionable formats
  • Naturally curious about adversarial thinking, edge cases, and how systems fail under pressure

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with penetration testing, red teaming, or vulnerability research
  • Familiarity with prompt injection, jailbreaking, or AI-specific attack vectors
  • Background in application security, API security, or machine learning systems
  • Experience with responsible disclosure, risk classification frameworks, or security auditing
  • Prior exposure to AI safety, alignment research, or AI ethics

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, high-impact work
  • Contribute to a field that matters — AI security is one of the most consequential challenges in tech today
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
