About the Role
What if your expertise in climate modeling, ecology, or environmental science could directly shape how AI reasons about one of the most important challenges facing our planet? We're looking for Climate Data Specialists — environmental scientists with advanced degrees — to develop complex, real-world problems that train cutting-edge AI models to think more rigorously about climate and environmental science.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and domain experts who want to apply their deep scientific knowledge to frontier AI development.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design, solve, and review advanced environmental science problems with genuine real-world relevance
- Apply your expertise in climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, or related disciplines to construct complex, rigorous problem sets
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to sharpen AI model reasoning
- Evaluate the scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity of AI-generated outputs in your area of expertise
- Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of scientific rigor and communication quality
Who You Are
- Holds a Master's or PhD in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Ecology, or a closely related field
- Experienced with Python or R for research or data analysis
- Deep subject matter expertise in climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, or environmental systems
- Exceptionally clear written communicator — able to explain complex concepts with precision
- Detail-oriented, methodical, and comfortable working independently in an asynchronous environment
- Fluent in English
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assurance, or AI evaluation workflows
