Cloud Security Analyst

$38-60/hrRemoteFreelanceCODING

About the Role

We're partnering with leading AI research labs to build smarter, safer AI systems — and we need practitioners who understand how cloud environments actually fail. As a Cloud Security Analyst, you'll bring your real-world experience to help train and evaluate frontier AI models on cloud security scenarios.

This isn't a theoretical role. We're looking for people who have seen misconfigurations cause incidents, who understand why a single IAM mistake can cascade into a full breach, and who can reason clearly about risk in complex cloud environments.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze cloud security scenarios across AWS, GCP, and Azure to identify risks, failure patterns, and real-world impact
  • Review and evaluate IAM configurations, networking setups, storage policies, and container security issues
  • Classify security gaps and misconfigurations based on severity, blast radius, and business exposure
  • Validate and improve AI-generated security reasoning to ensure it reflects how cloud incidents actually unfold
  • Provide structured, expert feedback that directly shapes how AI understands and responds to cloud security challenges

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with cloud environments in production
  • Strong familiarity with cloud IAM, networking, storage, and container security across one or more major providers
  • Experience with real-world misconfigurations, security incidents, or cloud vulnerability assessments
  • Ability to reason clearly about blast radius, risk exposure, and the downstream business impact of security failures
  • Clear communicator who can translate technical findings into structured, actionable feedback

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud security frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks, CSPM tooling, or cloud-native security services
  • Background in penetration testing, red teaming, or incident response
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code security (Terraform, CloudFormation) or Kubernetes security
  • Prior exposure to AI evaluation or data annotation workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on cutting-edge AI projects with top-tier research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — structure your hours around your life
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Make a meaningful impact by ensuring AI systems reason accurately about real security risks
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
