About the Role

We're looking for experienced security practitioners to help evaluate and improve AI systems that reason about real-world cybersecurity challenges. Your hands-on knowledge of vulnerability management, exposure analysis, and remediation will directly shape how AI understands and navigates modern security operations.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your security expertise beyond the SOC — and contribute to the development of frontier AI at the cutting edge of the industry.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze vulnerability reports, CVEs, and exposure scenarios across infrastructure and applications
  • Classify severity, exploitability, and business impact — and evaluate remediation strategies
  • Review and assess patching, mitigation, and risk prioritization decision-making scenarios
  • Generate, label, and validate realistic security-reasoning data used to train and benchmark AI systems
  • Help AI think like an experienced security analyst — not just recite theory

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security
  • Solid working knowledge of CVEs, vulnerability scanners, and patching workflows
  • Familiar with risk prioritization frameworks and how to balance theoretical vs. real-world risk
  • A clear, structured thinker who can explain security reasoning in writing
  • Comfortable working independently and asynchronously

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools like Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar platforms
  • Background in cloud security, DevSecOps, or enterprise infrastructure
  • Familiarity with CVSS scoring, EPSS, or exposure management frameworks
  • Prior experience in AI training, annotation, or red teaming

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems with leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Contribute to meaningful work that shapes how AI reasons about real-world security
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
