About the Role

We're looking for experienced security professionals to help evaluate and improve AI systems that reason about real-world cyber risk. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs — and we need practitioners who understand how vulnerability management actually works in production environments.

Your expertise in CVEs, risk prioritization, and remediation will directly shape how AI thinks about cybersecurity. This isn't theoretical work — it's grounded in the messy, high-stakes decisions security teams face every day.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze vulnerability reports, CVEs, and exposure scenarios across infrastructure and application environments
  • Classify severity, exploitability, and business impact using real-world judgment — not just CVSS scores
  • Evaluate patching, mitigation, and remediation decision-making scenarios for accuracy and practicality
  • Generate, label, and validate realistic security-reasoning data used to train and benchmark AI systems
  • Provide structured feedback that helps AI understand the tradeoffs security teams actually navigate

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security
  • Solid familiarity with CVEs, vulnerability scanners, patching workflows, and risk prioritization frameworks
  • You understand the gap between theoretical risk and what actually matters in a production environment
  • A clear, structured, and analytical communicator who can explain complex security decisions in writing
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools like Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as CVSS, EPSS, MITRE ATT&CK, or CISA KEV
  • Background in cloud security, container security, or DevSecOps environments
  • Prior involvement in AI, data labeling, or technical writing projects

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems built by the world's top research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and meaningful global collaboration
  • Apply your real-world security expertise to a genuinely novel and impactful challenge
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
