Visual Storytelling Prompt Writer

$40-120/hrRemoteFreelanceGENERAL

About the Role

What if your eye for cinematography, mood, and narrative could directly shape how AI understands and recreates the visual world? We're looking for Visual Storytelling Prompt Writers to watch video clips and translate what they see into rich, structured prompts — capturing everything from camera angles and lighting to emotional tone and character detail.

Your words become the bridge between moving images and AI. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to anyone with a strong visual sensibility and a gift for descriptive writing. No professional film or AI experience required — just a sharp eye and a passion for storytelling.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Watch video clips and translate their visual content into detailed, structured AI prompts
  • Capture the full picture — characters, settings, camera perspective, lighting, pacing, and mood
  • Balance technical shot description with narrative and emotional context
  • Produce multiple prompt variants when required to cover different interpretations or styles
  • Follow style guides for wording, specificity, and point of view with consistency
  • Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Strong descriptive writer with an instinct for visual clarity and precision
  • Passionate about film, video, photography, or visual storytelling in any form
  • Able to articulate what you see — composition, tone, atmosphere — without relying on dialogue or plot summary
  • Comfortable following detailed prompt-writing guidelines and applying them consistently
  • Naturally detail-oriented and methodical in your approach
  • No professional experience in film, writing, or AI required

Nice to Have

  • Background in filmmaking, screenwriting, photography, or visual arts
  • Experience writing creative or descriptive content — fiction, scripts, scene descriptions
  • Familiarity with cinematography terminology — shot types, framing, lighting styles
  • Prior exposure to AI tools, prompt engineering, or content annotation workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Make a direct, creative impact on how AI sees and interprets the visual world
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
