About the Role

What if your security expertise could directly shape the safety of the most advanced AI systems in the world? We're looking for AI Security Analysts to stress-test frontier models — probing for vulnerabilities, evaluating adversarial scenarios, and helping ensure that cutting-edge AI remains safe, reliable, and resistant to misuse.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for security professionals who are curious about how modern AI systems are built, attacked, and defended. If you think in threat models and get a kick out of finding what breaks, this role was made for you.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze AI and LLM security scenarios to understand how models behave under adversarial or unexpected conditions
  • Investigate prompt injection attacks, data leakage risks, model abuse vectors, and system misuse cases
  • Classify security vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigations based on real-world impact and likelihood
  • Apply threat modeling frameworks to emerging AI technologies and deployment environments
  • Evaluate and improve AI system behavior so it remains aligned with security best practices
  • Work independently on task-based assignments at your own pace and schedule

Who You Are

  • Background in cybersecurity, information security, or a closely related technical field
  • Solid understanding of modern security threat modeling and how it applies to AI and LLM systems
  • Familiar with adversarial attack surfaces — prompt injection, jailbreaking, data leakage, API abuse, and beyond
  • Analytical and precise — you dig into complex systems and don't stop until you understand how they break
  • Naturally curious about how AI models are built, deployed, and exploited
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently without hand-holding

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with red teaming, penetration testing, or vulnerability research
  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), generative AI, or machine learning systems
  • Background in application security, API security, or cloud security
  • Experience evaluating AI safety, alignment, or responsible AI practices
  • Prior work in AI governance, risk assessment, or compliance frameworks

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and asynchronous — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, impactful work
  • Contribute to AI safety at a critical moment in the technology's development
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
