Offensive Security Analyst (Structured / Non-Exploit)

$40-60/hrRemoteFreelanceSTEM

About the Role

What if your instinct for thinking like an attacker could directly shape how AI understands cybersecurity threats? We're looking for Offensive Security Analysts to analyze real-world attack scenarios, model adversary behavior, and help build the AI systems that will define the next generation of security intelligence.

This role is focused on structured adversarial reasoning — not exploit development. You'll be working with realistic intrusion scenarios, kill chains, and threat models to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI systems. No writing shellcode. Just deep, methodical thinking about how attacks unfold, where defenses break down, and how risk propagates through modern environments.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze attack paths, kill chains, and adversary tactics across realistic, production-style environments
  • Identify weaknesses, misconfigurations, and defensive gaps in simulated or described systems
  • Review red-team scenarios and intrusion narratives for technical accuracy and completeness
  • Generate, label, and validate adversarial reasoning data used to train and evaluate AI models
  • Clearly articulate attack chains, potential impact, and security tradeoffs in structured formats
  • Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in penetration testing, red team operations, or a blue-team role with deep attack knowledge
  • You understand how real attacks unfold in production environments — not just in theory
  • Able to break down complex attack chains and explain them clearly and precisely
  • Comfortable working through ambiguous scenarios and applying structured analytical thinking
  • Detail-oriented and consistent — you notice what others miss

Nice to Have

  • Experience with threat modeling frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, STRIDE, or similar
  • Background in threat intelligence, incident response, or security architecture
  • Familiarity with cloud, network, or application-layer attack surfaces
  • Prior experience with AI tools, data labeling, or security research

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Apply your offensive security expertise to a problem space that genuinely matters
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
